Breakout the Learning!

You have just been told that your team can have an extra hour of prep tomorrow IF you can retrieve the winning certificate before any of the other teams.

All that stands between you and that hour are this box and the locks keeping the certificate safely inside. Welcome to Breakout EDU!

Breakout EDU creates ultra-engaging learning games for all ages. Games (Breakouts) teach teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting participants with challenges that ignite their drive to problem-solve.” Each Breakout comes complete with a scenario and directions for setting up the game. Below are just three of the dozens of scenarios possible.

Breakouts can be used to teach core academic subjects including math, science, history, language arts and have embedded standards that apply problem solving strategies within a real world OR collaborative context. There are also directions for designing your own scenario.

Thanks to a Seven Dreams grant, each school has two of these kits that can be checked out from your media center. For more information, check out the website at or watch this brief video.
